Just a short time ago, this year in fact, I thought I was done with flight simulation as a whole. I was fed up, not only with internal struggles, but with nay-sayers and “that 2%” that can NEVER be happy with anything anyone provides for them, for FREE no less. Then avsim.com’s “Black Tuesday” occurred; exactly one week ago and the entire community was rocked to it’s core. AVSIM was hacked, taken offline, and all but destroyed.

What has happened in one week since is nothing short of a mircale. I watched Tom Allensworth go from utter shock, to saddened, to angry, to rebuild in his mind; literally overnight. I watched an ENTIRE community regroup and pick itself up from the ashes. AVSIM started a temp forum almost immediately. A short time later THE COMMUNITY ITSELF ASKED for a link to make donations. What the AVSIM staff and Tom thought was over soon started to look like a ressurection.
